Job Description
The Beauty Assistant is responsible for delivering excellent customer service by providing professional advice on beauty and skincare products.
The role focuses on driving sales, maintaining product knowledge, and ensuring the beauty department is well-presented and fully stocked, while building strong customer relationships and loyalty.
Job Purpose
To provide expert beauty and skincare advice, promote products, and manage merchandising effectively to maximize sales and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Assist customers with product selection and advice
- Answer beauty and skincare-related questions
- Drive sales through:
- Up-selling and cross-selling
- Promoting special offers and products
- Meet and exceed monthly sales targets
Sales Performance & Product Knowledge
- Monitor product performance and suggest improvements
- Stay updated on:
- Beauty trends
- Product ranges
- Promotions and events
- Promote private label and exclusive products
Merchandising & Store Operations
- Maintain high visual merchandising standards
- Ensure shelves are:
- Clean
- Fully stocked
- Properly displayed
- Manage stock effectively and minimise shrinkage
- Handle general administration and housekeeping
Customer Engagement & Loyalty
- Deliver a friendly, professional service
- Act as a brand ambassador for Clicks
- Promote and sign up customers for the Clicks ClubCard
- Build long-term customer relationships
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Essential: Grade 12 (Matric)
- Desirable: Beauty or skincare qualification
Experience (Advantageous):
- Retail or FMCG environment
- Beauty or skincare industry
- Sales or marketing experience
