     Job Overview

    The Accountant will be responsible for managing full financial and administrative accounting functions for Grey College Primary, including related institutions such as Jock Meiring Hostel and Grey College Pre-Primary.

    The role ensures accurate bookkeeping, financial compliance, payroll administration, and support for the institution’s strategic educational objectives.

     Key Responsibilities

     Financial Management & Accounting

    • Full bookkeeping for:
      • Grey College Primary
      • Jock Meiring Hostel
      • Grey College Pre-Primary
    • Maintain accurate financial records and reporting
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards

     Payroll & Tax Administration

    • Manage payroll processes
    • Apply South African personal tax legislation correctly
    • Ensure accurate employee financial records

     Administration & Reporting

    • Provide high-level financial administrative support
    • Prepare financial reports and documentation
    • Support Department of Education reporting requirements

     Systems & Data Management

    • Use financial accounting software effectively
    • Maintain and manage financial databases
    • Advanced use of MS Excel for reporting and analysis

     Minimum Requirements

    • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
      OR
    • Completed SAIPA or SAICA learnership
    • Minimum 3 years relevant administrative/accounting experience
    • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
    • Experience in payroll and tax legislation
