    Position Purpose

    The Student Advisor is responsible for recruiting prospective students, promoting academic programmes, building relationships with schools and communities, and supporting enrolment targets. The role combines sales, marketing, student advising, and customer service to attract and guide students throughout the recruitment and admissions process.

    Key Responsibilities

    Student Recruitment and Sales

    • Recruit prospective students to enrol in academic programmes.
    • Achieve student recruitment and registration targets.
    • Develop recruitment plans and strategies for assigned territories.
    • Follow up on prospective student enquiries and applications.
    • Promote the institution’s programmes and services.

    School and Community Engagement

    • Visit high schools and engage with learners, teachers, principals, and school counsellors.
    • Conduct presentations to student groups and community stakeholders.
    • Represent the college at recruitment fairs, exhibitions, and outreach events.
    • Build awareness of the institution within local communities.

    Student Advising and Career Guidance

    • Provide career guidance and academic programme information.
    • Advise prospective students on:
      • Study options
      • Career pathways
      • Admission requirements
      • Financial aid opportunities
    • Assist students in making informed educational decisions.

    Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain relationships with:
      • Schools
      • Alumni
      • Community organisations
      • Business partners
      • Prospective students and parents
    • Strengthen partnerships that support student recruitment initiatives.

    Marketing and Outreach

    • Coordinate outreach programmes, workshops, and campus visits.
    • Organise tours for prospective students and parents.
    • Promote academic programmes through marketing campaigns and events.
    • Distribute recruitment and promotional materials.

    Event Coordination

    • Organise and participate in:
      • Recruitment fairs
      • Career exhibitions
      • Open days
      • Community outreach programmes
      • College promotional events
    • Coordinate event logistics and stakeholder participation.

    Administrative and Reporting Functions

    • Maintain accurate student recruitment records.
    • Monitor recruitment activities and performance.
    • Prepare recruitment and outreach reports.
    • Track admissions and enrolment progress.
    • Manage recruitment databases and systems.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • National Diploma in Marketing or a related educational field.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a sales and target-driven environment.
    • 1–2 years’ customer service experience.
    • Higher Education sector experience will be advantageous.

    Technical Skills

    • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Experience using student recruitment and CRM systems is beneficial.

    Special Requirements

    • Valid driver’s licence.
    • Own reliable vehicle.
