    Position Purpose

    The Specialist: Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing financial insights that assist management decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Reporting

    • Prepare and analyse:
      • Balance Sheets
      • Income Statements
      • Cash Flow Statements
    • Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Compile and present financial performance reports to management.

    Financial Management and Analysis

    • Monitor financial performance and key financial indicators.
    • Analyse financial data to support strategic business decisions.
    • Develop and support financial strategies aimed at improving profitability and growth.
    • Provide financial insights to operational and management teams.

    Month-End and Year-End Processes

    • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
    • Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
    • Support annual financial reporting requirements.

    Budgeting and Forecasting

    • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Monitor budget performance and variances.
    • Support management in financial planning activities.

    Compliance and Governance

    • Ensure compliance with:
      • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
      • Tax legislation
      • Company financial policies and procedures
    • Participate in audits and financial reviews.
    • Ensure accounting controls are consistently applied.

    Tax and Statutory Responsibilities

    • Prepare and manage:
      • Annual Tax Packs
      • VAT reconciliations and returns
      • Financial Services Provider (FSP) calculations and returns
    • Ensure statutory reporting requirements are met.

    Cash and Treasury Management

    • Review and manage cash books.
    • Monitor cash management processes.
    • Perform financial reconciliations.
    • Manage payment loading processes.
    • Maintain accurate cash flow reporting.

    Capital Expenditure (CAPEX)

    • Manage the full CAPEX process.
    • Monitor capital expenditure budgets and approvals.
    • Ensure compliance with company investment procedures.

    Systems and Reporting

    • Perform Hyperion uploads and reporting.
    • Maintain accurate financial data within accounting systems.
    • Support financial reporting automation and efficiency initiatives.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in:
      • Accounting
      • Finance
      • Related Financial Discipline
    • CPA qualification preferred (or equivalent professional accounting designation).

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a similar accounting environment.
    • Financial Services experience is advantageous but not essential.
    • Experience in financial reporting and reconciliations preferred.

    • Experience with Hyperion is advantageous.
