Job Description
The Warehouse Operator: Bulk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and replenishing stock within the warehouse. The role includes ensuring stock quality, maintaining inventory accuracy, implementing stock rotation practices, operating warehouse equipment, and supporting safe and efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and Offloading Stock
- Offload incoming products from delivery vehicles.
- Inspect received products to ensure they meet quality and packaging standards.
- Record the age of incoming stock for inventory management.
- Report any non-compliance or discrepancies with received products.
Inventory Management
- Generate and attach product labels to incoming pallets.
- Store products in their designated warehouse locations.
- Replenish pick lines to maintain stock availability for order fulfilment.
- Implement stock rotation practices to prevent product expiry or obsolescence.
Warehouse Operations
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect equipment regularly to ensure proper functionality.
- Report damaged products, packaging issues, or incorrect labelling to the Controller.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work environment.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all company safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Wear and use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Promote a safe working environment and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Operate equipment within prescribed safety standards.
Teamwork
- Support the warehouse team in achieving operational targets.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote Econo Foods’ HO HOLA Culture through collaboration, respect, and teamwork.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar warehouse role.
- Experience within the FMCG retail industry will be advantageous.
- Valid Electric Pallet Jack Licence.
- Valid Forklift Licence.
