Job Overview
VKB Group is looking for a Branch Marketer to support the daily operations of its Lindley retail branch. The successful candidate will serve as the second-in-charge, assisting the Branch Manager with operational oversight, sales, stock management, staff development, customer service and marketing activities.
The role is suited to an experienced agricultural retail professional who has strong knowledge of stock control, irrigation, hardware and construction, animal health products and animal feed, together with the ability to take ownership and lead when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the supervision of daily branch operations and workflow.
- Support the Branch Manager with sales, expenses and budget monitoring.
- Manage stock ordering, merchandising, stock control, cash-ups and stock takes.
- Oversee the animal feed store.
- Handle general branch administration.
- Manage and control fuel-related responsibilities.
- Assist with staff training and development.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer queries.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with safety and legislative requirements.
- Drive branch marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Matric / NQF Level 4.
- Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
- 2–3 years’ experience in agricultural retail, particularly stock control, stock management and reducing stock losses.
- 1–2 years’ experience with irrigation systems, including pump sizing and selection, irrigation and garden layout design.
- 1–2 years’ experience in hardware and construction, including customer service and preparing quotations from building/construction plans.
- 2–3 years’ experience selling animal health products and veterinary medicines, with knowledge of AFCASA and similar products, active ingredients and applications.
- 2–3 years’ experience in the sale and storage of animal feed.
- Valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn, grow and occasionally work after hours.
