Job Overview
Econo Foods is looking for a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead its retail store in Kroonstad. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, driving sales, managing stock and expenses, maintaining high store standards, and leading a high-performing team.
The role is ideal for an experienced retail professional who can deliver excellent customer service, achieve sales targets, reduce stock losses and create a positive team environment aligned with Econo Foods’ HO HOLA culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and promote excellent customer service.
- Ensure customer service standards are consistently maintained.
- Maintain high store standards in line with merchandising requirements.
- Manage stock, promotions, pricing and product availability.
- Assist with receiving stock and conducting stock counts.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure stock remains in good condition.
- Recruit, train, coach and manage store employees.
- Build and support the company’s HO HOLA culture.
- Manage cash processes, including floats, daily banking and cashier support.
- Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing coaching.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Maintain hygiene, food quality and food safety standards.
- Analyse store sales data and identify opportunities for growth.
- Oversee store opening, closing and security procedures.
- Build positive relationships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent.
- A tertiary qualification will be an advantage.
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Retail Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Previous FMCG retail experience is preferred.
- Experience leading and managing a team.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets.
- Proven record of delivering excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, merchandising and store procedures.
- Valid driver’s licence, preferably with own vehicle.
