    Job Description

    The Provincial Head will lead and grow Lesaka EasyPay’s Sales and Distribution operations across the Free State province. The role is responsible for driving customer acquisition, revenue growth, customer retention, market expansion and operational excellence across all products and distribution channels.

    The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to provincial teams, manage sales and operational performance, build strong stakeholder relationships, oversee financial performance and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales Leadership and Business Growth

    • Develop and execute provincial sales and distribution strategies.
    • Achieve provincial sales, revenue and profitability targets.
    • Drive customer acquisition, retention and portfolio growth.
    • Identify new market and business growth opportunities.
    • Increase product penetration and customer utilisation.
    • Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
    • Ensure effective implementation of sales campaigns and promotions.
    • Build strong relationships with customers, community leaders and business partners.
    • Develop action plans to improve underperforming areas.
    • Manage the sales pipeline to support sustainable growth.

    Operational Excellence

    • Ensure operational standards are consistently implemented across the province.
    • Drive operational efficiency and service excellence.
    • Monitor customer service standards and implement corrective action.
    • Ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
    • Resolve escalated operational matters.
    • Ensure effective utilisation of provincial resources.
    • Drive continuous process improvements.
    • Monitor operational performance and implement improvement plans.

    People Management and Leadership

    • Build and maintain a high-performance culture.
    • Lead, coach, motivate and develop Area Managers and provincial teams.
    • Drive employee engagement and accountability.
    • Develop leadership capability and succession plans.
    • Conduct performance reviews and development discussions.
    • Ensure fair and consistent performance management.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Promote collaboration between Sales, Operations, Compliance, Finance, HR, Marketing and Product teams.

    Financial Management

    • Manage provincial sales and operating budgets.
    • Drive revenue growth and profitability.
    • Monitor budget utilisation and cost efficiencies.
    • Review financial performance and implement corrective action.
    • Contribute to annual planning, forecasting and budgeting.
    • Ensure effective allocation of resources.
    • Promote financial discipline across the province.

    Risk, Governance and Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legislative and company requirements.
    • Promote a strong risk and governance culture.
    • Ensure completion of mandatory compliance training.
    • Monitor adherence to internal controls and procedures.
    • Manage escalated risk and compliance matters.
    • Support internal and external audit processes.
    • Ensure timely closure of audit findings.
    • Maintain compliance with FAIS, FICA, POPIA, AML and other applicable regulations.

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in:
      • Business Management
      • Commerce
      • Finance
      • Economics
      • Marketing
      • Or a related field

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Postgraduate qualification.
    • MBA or Master’s Degree.
    • RE5 and FAIS-related qualifications where applicable.

    Experience

    • 8–10 years’ experience in financial services, fintech, banking, payments, lending or related commercial environments.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior sales leadership role.
    • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
    • Proven track record in revenue growth, customer acquisition and market expansion.
    • Experience managing budgets and business performance.
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience.
