    Job Description

    The Academic Content Writer: Data Science is responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining academic learning materials and assessments within the Information Technology Department. The role focuses on creating high-quality, academically rigorous content in Data Science and related disciplines, ensuring alignment with higher education standards, programme requirements, and the Eduvos brand.

    The successful candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts and academic teams to create engaging learning materials suitable for undergraduate and Honours-level students.

    Key Responsibilities

    Content Development

    • Develop new study materials and learning resources for students.
    • Design and develop assessments aligned with programme outcomes.
    • Create academically rigorous content up to 4th Year/Honours level.
    • Ensure content aligns with Eduvos quality standards and programme specifications.
    • Follow approved content development guidelines.

    Collaboration and Quality Assurance

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts within the faculty.
    • Participate in communities of practice.
    • Submit content for moderation and quality assurance review.
    • Implement feedback from moderators and reviewers.
    • Submit content for copy-editing through approved processes.

    Content Management

    • Upload and release learning materials on relevant learning platforms.
    • Manage module content and ensure content accuracy.
    • Ingest module content where required.
    • Maintain updated and relevant learning resources.

    Review and Updating of Learning Materials

    • Review existing study materials and assessments.
    • Update content according to curriculum developments and industry trends.
    • Resolve content-related queries from academic stakeholders.
    • Ensure assessment validity and academic integrity.

    Areas of Specialisation

    Candidates should demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following areas:

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    One of the following qualifications is required:

    • MSc in Data Science
    • MSc in Statistics
    • MSc in Applied Mathematics
    • MSc in Machine Learning
    • MSc in Artificial Intelligence
    • Related Master’s Degree in a relevant field

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
      • Higher Education lecturing
      • Academic content development
      • Study material development

    Preferred Experience

    • Creating interactive content using Moodle or similar LMS platforms.
    • Designing assessments across different NQF levels.
    • Academic journal publishing.
    • Development of online learning content.

    Technical Competencies

    • Academic writing and content development.
