Job Overview
This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for managing warehouse operations for Qpro Feeds, an animal feed manufacturing division of VKB Group.
The role ensures efficient storage, handling, and distribution of finished feed products while driving operational excellence, cost control, and high service reliability.
Job Purpose
To ensure the effective and efficient management of warehouse operations, including inventory control, storage, dispatch, logistics coordination, and continuous improvement to maintain product quality and delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee receipt, storage, and dispatch of finished bagged products
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and optimize storage space
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness, safety, and organisation
Leadership & Staff Management
- Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff
- Improve productivity and operational efficiency
Performance & KPI Management
Monitor and improve key performance indicators such as:
- Inventory accuracy rate
- Order fulfilment time
- Cost per unit shipped
- Employee productivity
- Safety incident rate
Systems & Process Control
- Manage warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Ensure proper system utilisation and data accuracy
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives
Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate transport and delivery schedules
- Optimise delivery routes and logistics partners
- Resolve delivery issues and maintain service reliability
Quality & Compliance
- Oversee quality control of stored and shipped goods
- Manage damaged goods and returns procedures
- Ensure compliance with standards and specifications
Strategic Planning
- Support production planning with stock insights
- Maintain optimal stock levels (avoid shortages and overstocking)
- Manage slow-moving/aging stock and rework strategies
- Control warehouse budget (staff, logistics, supplies)
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years warehouse management experience (manufacturing preferred)
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and inventory management
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to manage budgets and operational KPIs
