    Job Description

    The Assistant Store Manager helps lead the retail team to achieve store targets, improve profitability, and maintain operational excellence. The role involves stock control, customer service management, sales analysis, risk management, and staff supervision.

    Key Responsibilities

    Stock Management

    • Ensure stock is correctly received, unpacked, and replenished.
    • Monitor stock levels and reduce stock loss risks.
    • Maintain organised stockroom standards.
    • Authorise:

      • Product recalls

    Sales and Profitability

    • Analyse sales and profitability reports.
    • Support operational action plans to improve store performance.
    • Monitor store expenditure.
    • Track product performance and provide feedback.
    • Identify opportunities to increase sales and brand awareness.

    Risk and Compliance

    • Conduct compliance checks.
    • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
    • Assist with loss prevention and operational controls.

    Customer Experience

    • Maintain high customer service standards.
    • Ensure customer experience procedures are implemented effectively.
    • Support customer satisfaction initiatives.

    Leadership and Staff Development

    • Supervise and motivate the store team.
    • Drive achievement of store KPIs.
    • Identify training and coaching needs.
    • Assist with recruitment and performance management.
    • Support succession planning and talent development.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants should have:

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • 2–3 years’ experience in a supervisory or Assistant Store Manager role.
