    This role focuses on supporting student health and wellness initiatives, coordinating programs, and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the Student Wellness and Advocacy Office (SWAO).

     Job Description

    The Assistant Officer: Program Coordinator will play a key role in promoting student wellbeing by organizing health awareness campaigns, supporting peer education programs, and assisting with administrative and reporting functions. The position requires strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills.

     Key Responsibilities

    • Support implementation of health and wellness programmes
    • Coordinate awareness campaigns (e.g., HIV/AIDS, mental health, GBV)
    • Handle office administration (orders, bookings, inquiries)
    • Maintain stock records and compile monthly reports
    • Manage diary scheduling and meeting administration
    • Coordinate peer educator training programmes
    • Capture and analyse data, and prepare reports
    • Arrange events and assist with functions
    • Report maintenance issues and follow up
    • Travel to other campuses (Bloemfontein & South Campus) when required

     Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification

     Recommended Requirements (Advantageous)

    • At least 1 year relevant experience
    • Fluency in English (read, write, speak)
    • Additional African language
    • Residence in Qwaqwa or nearby areas
    • Experience in healthcare or higher education environments
    • Knowledge of:
      • HIV/AIDS & Sexual Reproductive Health
      • Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
      • Mental health & substance abuse
    • Experience with peer education programmes
    • Understanding of confidentiality and ethical handling of records
    • Familiarity with university systems and procedures

     Salary & Benefits

    Salary Range:
    R240,866 – R403,692 per annum (pro-rated for part-time, depending on experience and budget)
