Job Description
The Senior Assistant Officer will support the Supply Chain Management unit by maintaining the asset register, coordinating asset verification processes, and ensuring proper asset lifecycle management. The role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support asset management lifecycle processes
- Conduct asset verification and tagging
- Update and maintain the asset register database
- Liaise between the asset office and various university departments
- Ensure compliance with financial and asset control procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree / Advanced Diploma / B.Tech / Postgraduate Certificate (NQF Level 7)
OR - 3-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 1 year relevant experience in asset or finance environment
Recommended Requirements (Advantageous)
- Knowledge of asset management systems
- Experience in a higher education environment
- Understanding of university policies and procedures
- Membership or registration with a professional body

Salary & Benefits
Salary Range:
R403,692 – R507,169 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
