Job Description
Curro Bloemfontein is seeking to appoint a Coding and Robotics Teacher for the Intermediate Phase to join its primary school team from September 2026.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering learner-centred education in line with the Curro curriculum, supporting knowledge transfer and skills development, and encouraging positive attitudes among learners through engaging and innovative teaching approaches.
The teacher will also be responsible for classroom management, lesson planning, assessments, homework, extracurricular activities and maintaining effective communication with learners and parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct lessons using modern teaching tools and processes.
- Prepare workbooks and learning materials.
- Monitor learners’ academic progress, improvement and achievement.
- Review, implement and adjust term plans according to the needs and pace of the class.
- Develop customised learning plans where necessary.
- Manage the classroom environment and ensure it is set up for optimal learning.
- Implement appropriate classroom discipline and behavioural standards.
- Communicate effectively with learners and parents.
- Plan, conduct and manage formal and continuous assessments.
- Prepare assessment rosters and revision materials.
- Participate in assessment moderation.
- Plan and manage subject-related homework and revision activities.
- Facilitate peer-marking activities where appropriate.
- Plan and coordinate extracurricular activities and educational outings.
- Contribute to the development of learners’ skills, knowledge and positive attitudes.
- Teach in accordance with the CAPS curriculum and Curro’s educational approach.
Requirements
Qualifications
- BEd and/or PGCE in Intermediate Phase Teaching.
- SACE registration.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Intermediate Phase teacher.
- Knowledge and understanding of the CAPS curriculum.

- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage classroom activities and learner needs effectively.
