Job Description
The Free State Department of Health is offering 10 graduate internship opportunities in Supply Chain Management, Public Management and Financial Management.
The programme is designed to provide graduates with practical workplace experience relevant to their academic qualifications. Successful interns will work under the supervision of a mentor and perform duties related to their field of study.
Fields of Study
The internship is intended for suitably qualified graduates in:
- Supply Chain Management
- Public Management
- Financial Management
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens.
- Have completed Grade 12.
- Hold an undergraduate tertiary qualification relevant to the advertised field.
- Possess an NQF Level 6 National Diploma or NQF Level 7/8 Degree.
- Must not have previously completed a 24-month internship programme.
Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged individuals.

- Good literacy and numeracy abilities.
- Effective time-management skills.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Professional telephone etiquette.

Key Duties
- Perform basic tasks assigned by the mentor.
- Complete duties related to the intern’s field of study.
- Gain practical workplace experience within the public service environment.
- Complete assigned activities under appropriate supervision.
- Attend the funded Personal Mastery Course applicable to Public Service Graduate Interns.
