    GIBB Power is looking for a skilled Construction Supervisor: Electrical to oversee the electrical scope of a solar farm project in the Free State. This professional will be responsible for managing electrical construction, ensuring quality compliance, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting the project team through critical phases, including Cold and Hot Commissioning, Grid Connection, and Grid Code Testing. This role will suit candidates with strong electrical construction experience and familiarity with renewable energy projects.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or Construction (BSc, BTech, or similar).

    Experience

    • At least 10 years of experience as an electrical site engineer or construction supervisor, with a minimum of 4 years on renewable energy projects.
    • Experience with multiple project execution is advantageous.

    Person Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license and medically fit for site work
    • Ability to work on-site in the Free State for the project’s 10-month duration

    Key Responsibilities

    • Health & Safety: Enforce the HSE Plan on site and actively support HSE Officers.
    • Environmental Compliance: Guide contractors to adhere to Environmental Management Plans (EMPr).
    • Electrical Construction Management: Ensure compliance with the construction contracts by Balance of Plant (BOP) contractors.
    • Document Management: Support the Document Controller with site project documentation.
    • Commercial Support: Assist the Construction Site Manager and Commercial team with document compilation for milestone payment claims.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, local communities, contractors, and Eskom.
    • Reporting: Prepare internal and external project reports.
    • Quality Assurance: Support the Quality Manager with quality control processes.
    • Design & Engineering Support: Work with the Owner’s Engineer to review and approve electrical designs.
    • Project Planning: Assist in Cold and Hot Commissioning, Grid Connection, Grid Code Testing, and Commercial Operation Date (COD).
