MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To produce and present Sesotho Audio News and Current Affairs content and programmes as part of a team that broadcasts, publishes and posts newsworthy, compelling, accurate and fair stories for its target audience.
Responsibilities:

Produce and present Sesotho Audio News and Current Affairs content

Develop, broadcast, podcast, publish, and post compelling and accurate stories for the target audience

Produce special programmes and outside broadcasts
-
Research, script, voice, translate, and package stories
-
Conduct interviews, fieldwork, and archival research
-
Maintain a professional network and promote content across platforms including social media
-
Collaborate with team members to plan and deliver timely and high-quality Current Affairs programming
-
Ensure compliance with SABC editorial policies, legal and regulatory standards, and journalistic ethics
Qualifications:
-
National Diploma or Degree in Journalism, Media Studies, or equivalent (NQF 6/7)

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in radio/audio news and journalism
-
Fluency in Sesotho (read, write, speak) and good command of English
-
Solid knowledge of South African current affairs, socio-economic and political trends

Clear and professional broadcast voice

Proficient in social media as a journalistic tool

Excellent planning, teamwork, and organizational skills
-
Ability to work under pressure and handle irregular hours

Computer literacy in media and broadcasting systems
