Job Purpose
To provide high-quality postgraduate supervision to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) candidates in Information Technology. The role ensures that candidates receive strong academic and methodological guidance throughout the research process, enabling successful completion of doctoral studies while upholding academic integrity and institutional standards.
Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise PhD candidates in Information Technology from proposal development to final thesis submission

Provide academic and methodological guidance aligned with doctoral research standards

Support development of research proposals, literature reviews, theoretical frameworks, and research instruments

Guide students through data collection, analysis, interpretation, and academic writing

Monitor progress against agreed milestones and timelines

Provide structured feedback on research drafts and chapters
-
Maintain supervision records and progress reports

Ensure compliance with institutional research policies, ethical standards, and academic integrity requirements

Support candidates with publication development and conference presentations

Participate in postgraduate academic processes including proposal evaluations, research committees, examiner engagement, and quality assurance activities
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:

Doctorate in Information Technology
Experience:
-
Research supervision experience at NQF Level 9 and/or 10 in an IT-related field

Proven publication record (advantageous)
