    Director – Security Administration, Anti-Fraud and Corruption

    The Director: Security Administration, Anti-Fraud and Corruption will play a critical leadership role in managing the department’s overall security framework. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to protect departmental staff, assets, facilities, and information, while also addressing risks of fraud and corruption. The successful candidate will oversee physical and ICT-related security systems, manage investigations into security breaches, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and national security standards.

    This senior management role requires a visionary leader with strong problem-solving skills, integrity, and the ability to mobilize teams towards innovative service delivery and a culture of accountability.

    Requirements

    • An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Security Management/Public Administration/General Management or equivalent qualification.

    • Minimum of 5 years’ middle/senior managerial experience in supply chain/security management.

    • Valid driver’s license.

    • Knowledge of:

      • Security legislation, policies, and guidelines.

      • Electronic security systems.

      • Personnel security and vetting processes.

    • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

    • Proficiency in policy drafting, computer literacy, project management, and financial management.

    • Completion of the Senior Management Pre-entry Programme as endorsed by the National School of Government.

    Key Duties

    • Manage and oversee 24-hour physical security and access control at departmental premises.

    • Co-ordinate security operations for departmental events.

    • Oversee personnel security, including security clearances and vetting processes.

    • Conduct security audits and implement risk mitigation measures.

    • Manage ICT security related to departmental information and assets.

    • Lead and supervise security personnel while ensuring effective budget management.

    • Direct and manage investigations into fraud, corruption, and security breaches.
