JOB DESCRIPTION
The Custodian is responsible for the safe loading, management, and balancing of cash in ATMs, ensuring all transactions are accurate and secure.
This is a senior operational role within the Cash-In-Transit (CIT) team, requiring strict adherence to security procedures, accuracy in cash handling, and strong accountability for all financial transactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
ATM Operations
- Load and replenish ATMs daily
- Attend to ATM faults and basic technical issues
- Ensure ATMs are functioning properly at all times
Cash Handling & Control
- Secure, count, and balance all cash transactions
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions
- Ensure accountability for all cash handled
Security & Compliance
- Ensure all client assets (cash, ATMs) are secured
- Follow strict company and CIT procedures
- Monitor and report any suspicious activity
- Ensure compliance with scanning and tracking systems
Client Service
- Assist clients professionally
- Handle queries and provide support
- Maintain good customer relationships
General Duties
- Work overtime when required
- Travel to different locations when needed
- Follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team
Minimum Requirements
- Clear criminal record
- PSIRA accreditation (minimum Grade B)
- Firearm training (handgun and rifle)
- SAPS firearm competency certificate
- Cash-In-Transit (CIT) certificate
- Experience in security or similar role
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer literacy
