    The Mafube Local Municipality is currently inviting applications for the position of Credit Control Officer within its Directorate of Financial Services. The municipality is seeking motivated and competent individuals with the necessary qualifications and experience to join its dynamic team.

    The successful candidate will be expected to perform efficiently and effectively to contribute to the municipality’s financial management systems and objectives. This is a permanent position based in Frankfort.

    Credit Control Officer Position Overview:

    • Job Title: Credit Control Officer
    • Salary: R256,849.09 – R294,144.45 per annum

    • Qualifications and Experience Required:

    To apply for this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:

    • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
    • A National Diploma in Accounting or any other relevant qualification.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts, collections, billing, or related fields.
    • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar or relevant role.

    These qualifications and experience are essential for ensuring that candidates can handle the responsibilities of the position and contribute to the department’s goals effectively.

    These competencies will ensure that the successful candidate can navigate the challenges of the role, particularly in managing and controlling credit within the municipality’s financial systems.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Credit Control Officer will be responsible for several tasks, including, but not limited to:

    • Revenue Process Analysis: Analyzing and approving revenue recording processes, ensuring that all procedures are followed and deviations are addressed promptly.
    • Credit Control Plans: Compiling and enhancing the credit control activity plans and submitting them for discussion during departmental strategic workshops.
    • Financial Documentation: Signing and authorizing debit and credit notes and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
    • Disconnection Verification: Verifying and authorizing disconnections in relevant areas in line with policies and procedures.
    • Statistical Reporting: Preparing reports that outline short-to-medium-term cash flow trends and providing detailed explanations for deviations from expected financial outcomes.
