Job Description
Adendorff Machinery Mart is looking for a confident and customer-focused Counter Sales individual to join its Bloemfontein branch.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for customers, assisting them in selecting suitable tools and machinery while providing knowledgeable and professional customer service. The position combines sales, customer care, stock control, administration and product knowledge.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in the automotive, engineering, tools and machinery or hardware environments. Technical knowledge of DIY or hardware products and experience with retail branch procedures will be an added advantage.
The ideal candidate should be reliable, honest, confident and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain proper stock level control.
- Handle administrative and managerial duties.
- Generate sales in line with strategic growth objectives.
- Provide customer care in accordance with company standards.
- Supervise staff where required.
- Follow all branch procedures and instructions.
- Drive and maximise sales through exemplary leadership.
- Promote a positive company image through high-quality customer service.
- Maintain general housekeeping standards within the branch.
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge.
- Participate in ongoing self-development and training.
- Assist customers in selecting the appropriate tools and machinery for their requirements.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
- Own vehicle is essential.
- Previous exposure to the automotive, engineering, tools and machinery or hardware environment is advantageous.
- Experience with retail branch procedures will be an advantage.
- Technical knowledge of DIY or hardware products will be highly advantageous.
- Previous staff supervisory experience is beneficial.
- Strong sales and customer service abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Reliable and honest approach to work.
- Willingness to develop product knowledge and continuously improve skills.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00
