Job Description
The appointed contractor will be responsible for the construction of the top structure for the Walk of Life/Drankesberg Food Processors Juice Plant as part of Phase 1 of the Maluti-a-Phofung Special Economic Zone development.
The contractor will provide all labour, construction materials, plant, equipment, supervision, and project management services required to complete the building structure in accordance with approved drawings, engineering specifications, building regulations, health and safety legislation, and quality standards.
The contractor will ensure that the project is completed safely, within budget, and within the agreed construction programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct the top structure for the Walk of Life/Drankesberg Food Processors Juice Plant.
- Establish and prepare the construction site.
- Supply all labour, construction materials, plant, and equipment required for the project.
- Execute all building and structural construction works in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
- Supervise construction personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Coordinate daily site operations and construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
- Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and Construction Regulations.
- Maintain a safe and secure construction site.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to the construction schedule.
- Manage construction resources efficiently.
- Conduct inspections to ensure workmanship meets required quality standards.
- Identify and resolve construction-related issues and risks.
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and project documentation.
- Liaise with the employer, project consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure proper storage and management of construction materials and equipment.
- Conduct final inspections and rectify defects before project completion.
- Complete site clean-up and prepare the facility for practical completion and handover.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Valid CIDB Grade 7 GB registration or higher.
- Proven experience in general building construction projects.
- Ability to undertake structural building construction works.
- Attendance at the compulsory clarification meeting.
- Submission of the tender using the official tender documentation only.
- Compliance with all tender specifications and contractual requirements.
- Ability to complete the project within the specified timeframe.
