The Cleaning Supervisor will be responsible for managing cleaning operations, ensuring service excellence, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and leading a team of cleaning staff. This role ensures that all cleaning procedures are carried out in accordance with Tsebo’s policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements, especially within healthcare and hospitality settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure high-quality cleaning and hygiene services through active supervision and operational efficiency:

• Implement and manage work schedules and job cards specific to each position on site.

• Conduct daily inspections to ensure consistently high service standards are upheld.

• Report maintenance and safety concerns to the manager on a day-to-day basis.

• Monitor and enforce proper staff uniforms and personal appearance, including name badges.

• Ensure cleaning methodologies comply with company policies, quality programs, and relevant legislation.

• Perform monthly spot checks on high-value assets to ensure they are in good condition, repaired, and serviced as needed.

• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and professionalism in all work areas.

• Promptly respond to management requests and take appropriate action.

• Promote high morale and motivation through effective communication and leadership.

• Apply healthcare-specific hygiene and safety practices where required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum: Matric / Grade 12

• Advantageous: Tertiary qualification in a relevant field

• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar environment

• Familiarity with health, hospitality, and safety standards

• Asset and equipment management experience preferred

Skills and Attributes:

• Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency

• Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Independent and reliable with flexibility to work long hours, weekends, or after hours as needed
