Requirements:
-
Appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Economics or a related field, recognised by SAQA.

5 years of experience at a senior managerial level.
-
7+ years of experience in the economic development environment.
-
Knowledge of relevant prescripts, legal frameworks, and policies in the Public Service.
-
Strong financial, human resource, and asset management skills.
-
Computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence.
Additional requirement for SMS posts:
-
Completion of the NSG Senior Management Pre-Entry Programme (certificate to be submitted before appointment).
Duties:
-
Promote and support industrial and sectoral development through collaboration with key stakeholders.
-
Facilitate the development of industries in the Free State, working with the Free State Development Corporation and the Maluti-a-Phofung Special Economic Zone (MAP-SEZ).
-
Coordinate sector-specific development funding and mobilise resources.
-
Lead the implementation of strategies and projects to enhance competitiveness in priority provincial sectors.
-
Provide leadership in the management of the Chief Directorate’s human, financial, and asset resources.
