The Chief Director: Corporate Services will provide strategic leadership and management of the department’s corporate functions including human resources, information technology, legal support, and governance. This senior role is critical in ensuring operational effectiveness, compliance with government policies, and the implementation of corporate strategies that support the department’s mandate.

Salary:
R1 494 900 per annum (Level 14), all-inclusive package.
This includes the basic salary, government pension contributions, and a flexible portion that may include benefits such as a 13th cheque, motor car allowance, homeowner’s allowance, and medical aid assistance.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage human, financial, governance, compliance, systems, and risk aspects of the chief directorate

Oversee the development and implementation of human resources management strategies, including culture, change, wellness, performance, and labour relations

Manage the department’s Information Technology functions and ensure sound information management systems are in place

Provide legal support and advisory services to the department

Define and drive the implementation of corporate strategies

Ensure efficient and effective management of human and financial resources within the chief directorate
Requirements:
-
Degree at NQF Level 7 in Law, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Organisational Development, or Public Management (as recognised by SAQA)

Minimum 5 years relevant senior management experience

Valid driver’s license
-
Knowledge of Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Collective Bargaining Prescripts, Public Finance Management Act, Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, Treasury Regulations, and DPSA Organisational Design Toolkit

Skills in organisational development, security services management, human resource administration, multi-year HR planning, and computer literacy

Strong strategic leadership, people management, problem-solving, communication, and client orientation skills

Ability to maintain open relationships with labour unions

Ability to work under pressure and flexible to work after hours
