    Chief Director: Corporate Affairs DESTEA 07/08/25

    The Chief Director: Corporate Affairs will provide strategic leadership in communications, IT, legal services, and corporate governance functions within the Department. The successful candidate will oversee corporate communication, marketing, public relations, and information management systems while ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and supporting effective institutional knowledge management.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Corporate Communication, Communication Sciences, Information Technology, or related field (as recognised by SAQA).

    • 5 years of experience at a senior managerial level.

    • 7+ years of experience in the Communication and/or IT environment.

    • Strong business orientation with broad experience in:

      • Information Management and IT

      • Corporate Communication & Marketing

      • Legal Services

      • Publishing, copywriting, layout, and design

    • Knowledge of Government processes and legislation.

    • Computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence.

    Additional requirement for SMS posts:

    • Successful completion of the NSG Senior Management Pre-Entry Programme (certificate must be submitted before appointment).

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Develop and manage effective corporate communication, marketing, and public relations programmes.

    • Provide legal advice and opinions to the Department.

    • Manage information technology, systems, and institutional memory (knowledge management).

    • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Chief Directorate.

    • Oversee the development of the Annual Performance Plan (APP) and reporting processes.

    • Manage human, financial, and asset resources of the Chief Directorate.
