Call for Applications: SAICA VAT Subcommittee (2 Vacancies)

SAICA is inviting suitably experienced professionals to apply for two vacancies on the Value-Added Tax (VAT) Subcommittee, a specialist working group of the National Tax Committee (NTC).
Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is not limited to SAICA members. All VAT subject matter specialists, regardless of professional designation, are welcome to apply.
About the VAT Subcommittee
The VAT Subcommittee supports SAICA’s efforts in:

Interpreting and responding to VAT-related legislative changes,
-
Contributing to national policy discussions and technical submissions,
-
Providing thought leadership in the taxation environment.
This is a working committee, and active participation is essential. Appointment is for professionals who will bring expertise, fairness, and engagement to the table.
Key Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate:
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in VAT or related tax services,
-
Strong technical knowledge in VAT,
-
Relevant qualifications (CA(SA), AGA(SA), AT(SA) or equivalent),
-
Experience across various practice or industry sectors,
-
Influence and credibility in the tax profession,
-
A track record of fair and collaborative participation,
-
Willingness to write at least one article for IntegriTax Journal per year and/or contribute to a technical submission,
-
Readiness to participate in media engagements (media training will be provided),
-
Alignment with Employment Equity targets and geographical representation.
