Call for Applications: SAICA Central Region Tax Subcommittee
The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) is calling for applications to serve on its Central Region Tax Subcommittee, a working group under the SAICA National Tax Committee (NTC). This subcommittee supports national tax policy engagement and professional representation in tax matters.
Who Can Apply?
Unlike the NTC, subcommittees are open to all subject matter specialists, not only SAICA members. SAICA welcomes applications from qualified professionals in the Free State, Northern Cape, and North West provinces.
Role of the Subcommittee:
The Central Region Tax Subcommittee contributes to:

National tax commentary and consultation,
-
Monitoring developments in regional tax matters,
-
Supporting SAICA’s mandate to represent and serve its members and the profession in taxation.
This subcommittee reports into the NTC and forms part of SAICA’s broader advisory and advocacy structure.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should demonstrate:

At least 5 years’ experience in a specialised field of taxation (experience requirements may be contextualised for new tax areas),
-
Relevant qualifications (CA(SA), AGA(SA), or AT(SA) is a prerequisite),
-
Technical tax knowledge and professional credibility,
-
A track record of fairness, professionalism, and stakeholder engagement,
-
Influence and recognition in the tax community,
-
Consideration will also be given to employment equity targets and geographical representation.
Commitment Required:
Subcommittee membership demands:
-
Rigorous participation, contribution to discussions, and input on tax-related matters,
-
Availability for scheduled meetings and ad-hoc engagements.
