Job Overview
Boitumelo Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager: PNB4 – Critical Care Nursing: Trauma & Emergency. The successful candidate will provide strategic and clinical leadership in the HIV/AIDS and TB (HAST) programme, supporting healthcare facilities, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring effective implementation and monitoring of HAST programmes.
Minimum Requirements
- Basic R425 nursing qualification, such as a nursing diploma/degree, allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse; or
- 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174); or
- 3-year Diploma in General Nursing (R171).
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Post-basic nursing qualification of at least 1 year, accredited by SANC.
- Minimum 10 years’ appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC.
- At least 3 years’ appropriate/recognisable experience at management level.
- Current SANC registration for 2026/2027.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Computer literacy.
Additional Knowledge and Skills
- Training in HIV/AIDS management, including NIMART.
- Extensive experience in the HAST programme.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction for the district’s HIV/AIDS and TB (HAST) programme.
- Implement strategies aimed at behavioural change, reducing new infections and improving patient retention in care.
- Implement HAST programmes in accordance with strategic plans.
- Provide technical and clinical support to healthcare facilities and stakeholders.
- Implement and monitor HAST programmes throughout the district.
- Manage the HAST multidisciplinary team.
- Coordinate relevant stakeholders.
- Analyse and manage HIV/AIDS and TB data to strengthen programme implementation.
- Conduct clinic and hospital support visits.
- Perform audits to ensure programme compliance.
- Lead health and wellness events aimed at influencing positive behavioural change.
