Position Overview
The Assistant Financial Controller supports the Financial Controller and Financial Managers across the VKB Group by maintaining accurate financial systems, improving ERP processes, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring that financial information is reliable and aligned across the organisation.
This role combines finance, systems administration, business process improvement, data analysis, ERP management, and internal controls. It is suitable for candidates who enjoy working with financial systems, analysing information, solving problems, and improving business processes.
The successful candidate will help standardise financial processes across various VKB entities while ensuring that financial and operational managers receive high-quality support and accurate financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Systems and ERP Management
- Prepare financial and operational information required for ERP system transfers and upgrades.
- Maintain and update ERP databases with approved changes and financial information.
- Ensure ERP system configurations accurately reflect operational and financial requirements.
- Monitor and improve ERP functionality and system performance.
- Keep up to date with developments in ERP technologies and financial systems.
Financial Controls and Governance
- Strengthen financial control environments across VKB Group companies.
- Ensure system setups comply with approved business and financial requirements.
- Support compliance and governance processes within the finance function.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and reliable financial records.
Business Process Improvement
- Standardise system requests and financial processes throughout the VKB Group.
- Analyse existing processes and recommend improvements.
- Design and implement system enhancements that improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Support strategic and business-as-usual (BAU) projects.
Testing and Implementation
- Design, test, and implement approved system requests.
- Verify that system changes meet operational and financial requirements.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues.
Reporting and Analysis
- Monitor project progress and implementation activities.
- Prepare structured progress reports and performance metrics.
- Analyse data to support decision-making and business improvements.
- Provide accurate information to management and stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance-related field (preferred)
