    Assistant Director: Financial Administration REF NO: FSPT 023/25

    The Free State Provincial Treasury is responsible for promoting sound financial governance, effective financial administration, and compliance across provincial departments. The department is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Director: Financial Administration, a critical position responsible for overseeing financial transactions, reporting, and compliance within the department.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor the implementation and maintenance of financial administration practices and transactions on the Basic Accounting System (BAS).

    • Verify and approve financial documents and transactions in accordance with delegated authority.

    • Ensure the effective implementation of financial policies and compliance with relevant legislation and prescripts.

    • Address enquiries related to financial management to ensure correct application of financial procedures and practices.

    • Prepare and consolidate reports and reconciliations related to BAS financial transactions.

    • Manage the resources and day-to-day operations of the Bookkeeping, Paymaster General, and Cashier units.

    Qualifications:

    • A relevant Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management or equivalent qualification.

    • A minimum of 3–5 years of working experience in a financial administration or accounting environment.

    • Strong knowledge of BAS, PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and relevant financial management legislation.

    • Competencies in numeracy, communication, report writing, and problem-solving.

    • Computer literacy is essential.

    Benefits:

    • R468 459 per annum (Level 09), basic salary.
