    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in managing daily operations of the assigned healthcare unit.

    • Support the implementation and monitoring of production processes.

    • Manage and control food and labour costs within budget guidelines.

    • Oversee menu planning and ensure compliance with special dietary requirements.

    • Ensure adherence to HACCP and food safety standards.

    • Manage and support the kitchen brigade to maintain high performance.

    • Assist in the strategic and day-to-day operational management of the catering unit.

    • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure operational excellence.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Food and Beverage Services or Culinary Arts (compulsory).

    • Minimum 3 years’ progressive kitchen/management experience (compulsory).

    • Proven experience working within budget guidelines to achieve results.

    • High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience (highly desirable).

    • Healthcare catering experience (essential).

    • Knowledge of special diets (compulsory).

    • Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards (advantageous).

    • Hospital environment experience (advantageous).

    Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

    • Strong understanding of catering environments (from fine dining to healthcare).

    • Knowledge of South African and industry-specific regulations.

    • Excellent management and leadership skills.

    • Strong customer service orientation.

    • Exceptional planning and organisational skills.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to balance budgets and manage costs efficiently.

    • Computer literacy.

    • Knowledge of HSE standards.
