The organisation is seeking a hands-on and experienced Employment Equity (EE) candidate to fill the role of Artisan Civil, ensuring optimal upkeep of civil infrastructure and facilities.

Job Title: Artisan Civil

Responsibilities:

Conduct maintenance on plants, pump stations, pipelines, reservoirs, and other infrastructure

Supervise civil teams and allocate daily tasks

Perform plumbing, painting, carpentry, and general repairs
-
Prioritise fault-finding, inspections, and repairs of water systems and dam structures
-
Clean settling tanks, dams, and reservoirs
-
Support other departments and assist with infrastructure projects
-
Manage work orders, shift schedules, and maintenance records
-
Monitor and maintain fleet logbooks and equipment
-
Handle administrative tasks: attendance, leave, standby, overtime forms, etc.

Order and control spares and tools
-
Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations
-
Work in harsh environments (e.g., trenches, heavy rains)
-
Perform standby duties and overtime work when needed

Complete all tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications:
-
Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 Technical Certificate in Building or Civil

Trade Test Certificate (Bricklaying, Painting, or Carpentry)
Skills & Competencies:
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil/building maintenance
-
Supervisory experience
-
Strong technical knowledge of civil infrastructure and water systems
-
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office; CMMS experience is a plus)

Good communication and report-writing skills
-
Basic understanding of Health and Safety practices

Valid driver’s license
