Architectural Design Lecturer Job Purpose
As an Architectural Design Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, supporting students through their academic journey, and assisting with assessments. This role is critical in ensuring students develop the skills required to succeed in the architectural industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Lecturing & Student Engagement:
- Deliver high-quality lectures aligned with module pacers.
- Engage students effectively using industry-relevant teaching techniques.
- Prepare students for assessments and projects.
- Identify at-risk students and provide additional academic support.
Academic & Administrative Duties:
- Manage student records, academic materials, and resources.
- Update the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Assist the Programme Coordinator in analyzing module results.
- Monitor student engagement and performance, escalating concerns where necessary.
Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance teaching methods.
- Stay updated on education best practices and industry trends.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Degree or Diploma in Architectural Design or related field.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of work experience in architectural design or a related industry.
- Prior lecturing/tutoring experience (advantageous but not mandatory).
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of South African higher education regulations.
Excellent knowledge of Teaching and Learning theories.
Ability to engage, mentor, and support students effectively.
Comfortable working in a digitalized learning environment.
