    Job Overview:


    Absa Bank is looking for a dedicated FAIS-accredited Financial Adviser to join its AIFA team in Bloemfontein. This role involves providing professional financial advice and solutions in the areas of investment, life insurance, and estate planning. You’ll work within Absa’s bancassurance model to grow and service a client base while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal business standards.

    Responsibilities:

    Client Relationship & Financial Needs Analysis:

    • Engage clients through Absa’s structured client engagement process

    • Conduct Financial Needs Analyses (FNA) using Absa’s tools (Avalon from Aug 2024)

    • Provide tailored risk and investment recommendations aligned to individual client profiles

    • Present advice and product options in line with FAIS regulations

    • Review and adjust financial plans regularly to meet evolving client needs

    Sales & Growth:

    • Meet agreed sales targets through proactive planning and engagement

    • Use internal leads and self-sourced opportunities to grow client portfolio

    • Facilitate policy implementation and ensure documentation is complete and compliant

    • Reciprocate leads with Everyday Banking teams and participate in regular pipeline meetings

    Commission & Business Management:

    • Capture and track Policy Relevant Information (PRI) for accurate commission payment

    • Maintain accurate client data and follow up on unpaid premiums

    • Ensure alignment between issued policies and client-approved recommendations

    Practice Management:

    • Manage support staff including coaching, mentoring, and training

    • Monitor performance and implement corrective actions if required

    • Ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, and Absa’s operational standards

    • Provide regular performance and income updates to stakeholders

    Professional Development:

    • Attend required training for product accreditation and compliance

    • Maintain Fit and Proper status for all FAIS-flagged responsibilities

    • Uphold high standards of integrity, solvency, and ethical conduct

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum Requirement: FAIS-recognised qualification in Financial Planning or a related discipline

    • Regulatory Compliance: Fit and Proper status under FAIS legislation

    • Experience: Prior experience in financial advice, sales, or banking is advantageous
