Core Purpose of the Underwriting Officer Role
The Underwriting Officer will be responsible for the effective handling and underwriting of Agri, Commercial, and Personal insurance policies. Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Educational Qualification:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Accreditations & Certifications:
- FAIS Accreditation (having a relevant qualification, RE5 & CoB is beneficial)
Experience:
- Previous work experience in underwriting or a short-term insurance environment is advantageous
- Product knowledge/training in short-term insurance
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong numeracy skills
Language Skills:
- Must be fluent in Afrikaans and English
Other Essential Skills:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational ability
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Confidentiality and discretion
- Strong problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities
As an Underwriting Officer at OVK Group, your duties will include:

- Processing new insurance policies, renewals, and amendments
