Job Purpose
The purpose of this job is to supply and install lockout units for 11kVA incoming power supplies at the ARC Bethlehem Branch. The installation aims to ensure safe, compliant electrical isolation for the campus and glasshouse complex power sources.
Scope of Work
The successful service provider will be responsible for:
Supplying two (2) lockout units suitable for 11kVA incoming power
Installing lockout units at:
The Eskom supply point
The glasshouse complex
Executing the work as a turnkey (key-turn) project
Performing any required structural modifications, including work on wooden poles
Conducting preliminary site visits before execution
Managing the project from installation through to completion
Ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and site regulations
Technical Requirements
Lockout units must be:
Rated for 11kVA
Suitable for the existing electrical infrastructure
Electrical work must:
Be carried out by accredited electricians
Include proof of Eskom accreditation
Installation must comply with:
National electrical standards
National Treasury General Conditions of Contract
ARC SCM Code of Conduct
A minimum 1-year guarantee must be provided on goods and workmanship
Proper PPE, safety controls, and site supervision are mandatory
Skills & Experience Requirements
The bidder must demonstrate:
Qualified electrical engineers or technicians accredited to work on 11kVA systems
Proven experience with:
Lockout / tagout installations
Electrical infrastructure projects
Ability to perform structural and electrical modifications safely
Strong project management capability
Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, including:
Risk assessments
PPE provision
Site safety compliance
