Description
The National Health Laboratory Service is inviting suppliers to provide and deliver one laboratory water bath for the Chemical Pathology Department at Universitas, Bloemfontein. The equipment must meet the specified technical, safety, quality and laboratory operational requirements.
Responsibilities / Scope of Work
The successful supplier will be responsible for:
- Supplying and delivering one water bath unit.
- Providing all required accessories, racks, operator manuals and protective packaging.
- Delivering the equipment within 4–6 weeks of contract award.
- Providing a minimum 12-month warranty.
- Performing at least one after-sales service or maintenance visit during the warranty period.
- Providing any required maintenance during the warranty period.
- Ensuring the supplied equipment complies with all stated technical specifications.
Requirements / Technical Specifications
The water bath must meet the following requirements:
- Stainless steel body.
- Variable or pre-set temperature adjustment.
- Operating temperature range of 0–100°C.
- Temperature accuracy of ±0.5°C.
- Out-of-range temperature alarm.
- Low-water-level sensor safety circuit.
- Full safety compliance.
- Digital display.
- Digital circulating pump with timer.
- SA-compliant electronic voltage.
- High-quality Incalloy immersion element.
- Approximate dimensions of 310 × 345 × 260 mm.
- Approximate tank capacity of 14 litres.
- Water bath cover/lid.
- Racks designed specifically for 2–5 ml Vacutainer tubes.
- ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certification.
- Temperature calibration certificate.
- Official operator manual.
Supplier Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate the ability to meet the following administrative and compliance requirements:
- Valid SARS Tax Clearance Certificate/PIN.
- Active Central Supplier Database (CSD) registration.
- Completed mandatory SBD forms 1, 4, 6.1 and 7.
- Manufacturer catalogues/brochures with page references confirming compliance with each specification.
- Capacity to conduct the required warranty-period maintenance.
- Transparent pricing for any additional maintenance charges.
- Formal quotations on company letterhead.
- Fixed pricing in South African Rand (ZAR), excluding VAT.
- Acceptance of National Treasury General Conditions of Contract.
- Valid B-BBEE verification certificate or qualifying sworn affidavit where applicable.
