Purpose of the Position
The Store Manager will lead a team of energetic and motivated Dynamos. The primary responsibility of this role is to achieve business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which include sales growth, cost control, risk mitigation, and stock loss prevention. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that the store upholds world-class standards in customer service and store presentation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Store Manager at PEP Clothing, your main responsibilities will include:
- Boost Sales: Maximize sales by delivering excellent customer service and maintaining store standards. This includes managing stock and implementing promotional strategies.
- Minimize Stock Loss: Create a positive store culture to reduce stock losses, ensuring proper security measures and cash handling procedures are followed.
- Cost Control: Manage store expenses by applying the company’s low-cost culture. Focus on driving efficiencies across all store operations.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle all store-related administrative duties efficiently, ensuring they comply with PEP’s guidelines.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Dynamos. This includes overseeing training, coaching, and performance management. It is vital to maintain a supportive and dynamic environment where each team member can excel.
- Maintain Standards: Uphold the store’s health, safety, and housekeeping standards. This includes making sure the store is clean, organized, and safe for both employees and customers.
Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Matric certificate (Grade 12) is required. A degree or diploma in a business or retail-related field would be advantageous.
- Experience: Ideally, 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment in a leadership role is preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in English, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and computer literacy (knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google GSuite is a bonus).
- Attributes: The role demands a passion for retail, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work retail hours, which may include weekends, is essential.
