    IIE Rosebank College, a member of Africa’s leading private education group (ADvTECH), is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Accounting Lecturer to join its academic team in Bloemfontein.     Job Purpose

    The Lecturer will deliver Accounting modules in line with institutional standards, support students throughout the academic cycle, and contribute to quality assurance efforts. Responsibilities include lecturing, preparing students for assessments, identifying at-risk learners, and participating in the ongoing evaluation of module performance.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Teaching & Learning Delivery

    • Deliver engaging, well-prepared lectures based on module pacers and curriculum requirements.

    • Facilitate interactive learning and ensure students understand core Accounting concepts.

    • Manage academic resources and liaise with the Information Centre for learning materials.

    Student Support & Assessment Preparation

    • Prepare students for assessments and develop assessments aligned with Central Academic Team guidelines.

    • Identify students at risk and offer academic support or interventions where needed.

    • Monitor student participation, assessment submissions, and academic progress.

    Academic Administration & Quality Assurance

    • Update the Learning Management System (LMS) and provide timely, constructive feedback.

    • Participate in academic meetings across faculties and support academic coordination activities.

    • Analyse student module results to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

    • Assist in tracking and monitoring at-risk modules in collaboration with the Programme Coordinator.

    Professional Development

    • Complete required academic professional development activities annually.

    • Demonstrate commitment to improving teaching practice and maintaining academic quality.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field.

    • Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) is an added advantage.

    Experience

    • 1–2 years lecturing experience.

    • 2–3 years relevant industry experience in accounting, finance, auditing, or related fields.

    Key Competencies

    • Solid understanding of the South African higher education regulatory framework.

    • Strong knowledge of teaching and learning theories and academic support strategies.

    • Ability to provide student support and handle diverse learning needs.

    • Comfortable working with digital academic platforms and willing to learn new tools.

    • Adaptability in a rapidly changing academic environment.

    • Excellent time management and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

    • Strong administrative discipline and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work effectively under pressure.

    Working Hours

    Part-time role with hours determined by module allocations and the academic timetable.
