Tender Description
The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Free State invites suitably qualified and registered contractors to submit tenders for the repairs and renovations of Majwemaseu Public Library in Brandfort.
The project is intended to improve the condition, functionality, safety and overall usability of the public library. The appointed contractor will be responsible for carrying out the required building and renovation works in accordance with the specifications, drawings, tender conditions and applicable construction standards contained in the official tender documentation.
Scope of Work
The works may include general building repairs, refurbishment and maintenance required at the library facility. Depending on the detailed specifications in the tender documents, contractors may be required to undertake activities such as:
- General building repairs and renovations.
- Masonry, plastering and related building work.
- Painting and finishing.
- Roofing and associated repairs.
- Plumbing and related maintenance.
- Electrical fittings and repairs where specified.
- Restoration and improvement of damaged or deteriorated areas.
- General maintenance and refurbishment of the library facility.
- Site management and coordination of construction activities.
- Compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
- Completion of all works according to the approved project specifications and timelines.
Requirements
Tenderers must meet the following key requirements:
- A minimum CIDB contractor grading of 3GB or higher.
- Demonstrable capability and experience in building construction, repairs, renovations or refurbishment projects.
- Adequate skilled personnel, artisans, supervisors and project management resources.
- Capacity to perform the required construction and renovation works.
- Compliance with all applicable construction, health and safety and public-sector procurement requirements.
- Tender submissions must be completed using the official tender documentation issued for this project.
- Tenderers must comply with the prescribed requirements for sealing, addressing, delivery and assessment of tenders.
- Attendance at the compulsory clarification meeting is required.
- Emailed and late tenders will not be accepted.
