PSG is seeking a junior-level Economical Research Analyst to join their research and trading team in a well-established office. The role is designed for a motivated candidate with strong analytical, administrative and data-handling abilities, who is ready to support investment research, trading and portfolio management functions. The position includes both technical and administrative responsibilities with a strong emphasis on data analysis, financial modelling and client service.

Purpose of the Role
To provide research, data analysis, trading, and administrative support to the PSG research and trading team, contributing to investment research on companies, markets, funds, and securities, while assisting with client portfolio management and performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis

Collect data for research reports and market analysis.

Analyse company results and interpret financial information.

Contribute to research processes on companies, markets, funds, and securities.

Conduct Excel-based modelling, screening and large data analysis.
Portfolio Management & Trading
-
Assist with client portfolio performance reporting.

Participate in portfolio management activities.

Execute trades and implement client trade instructions.

Prepare proposals and analyse existing client portfolios.
Administrative & Client Support
-
Provide administrative support to the research and trading team.

Handle client enquiries and offer customer service.

Manage new client applications and quotations.

Maintain diaries and assist with daily office administration.

Support client relationship management activities.
Training Requirement
-
Completion of the JSE Registered Traders Examination will be required.
Minimum Requirements
-
CFA-affiliated BCom Honours degree (Finance, Investments, Accounting or Economics), including Econometrics, graduating by April 2026

RE5 completed
-
Proficient in English and at least one other official South African language

Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel)
