Vodafone is seeking a Transmission Assurance Specialist to plan, implement, and support the Transmission infrastructure, ensuring service quality and network reliability. The role involves project coordination, network planning, performance monitoring, and implementing new transmission equipment to support network expansion and growth initiatives.

 Key Responsibilities

• Provide transmission implementation support and execute network projects.

• Plan and maintain the Transmission network, ensuring alignment with growth and expansion plans.

• Implement new TX equipment to improve network quality and support rollout.

• Liaise with Project Management, Property, Maintenance, Installation, FFO, Ops Support, and external contractors.

• Monitor and ensure managed network performance, supporting quality standards and acceptance testing (ATP).

• Maintain the Transmission master plan, forecast network growth, and plan network traffic for Access, Edge, Core, and TX areas.

• Support Transmission network assurance and resolve performance issues.

 Minimum Requirements

• 3-year Degree or National Diploma in an engineering-related field.

• 3–5 years’ work experience in telecoms, specifically in Transmission implementation, planning, and systems.

 Core Competencies & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of Microwave, Fiber, Router, Synchronisation, and Switch technologies (Tellabs/Coriant, Nera, SIAE, Hughes, Radwin, Symmetricom, Nokia, Alcatel Lucent).

• Experience in performance management and planning tools for GSM, UMTS, LTE, and Transmission networks.

• Proficiency in TDM, ATM, PDH, SDH, C/W/DWDM, IP/MPLS, MEF, Transmission architecture, IP & TX Protocols.

• IP expertise across OSI Layers 1–4 and standards in IEEE, ITU, MEF, and optical/radio frequency.

• Analytical, solution-oriented, resilient with strong planning and implementation skills.

• Project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
