    Ampath Laboratories is seeking a Histology Technologist to play a crucial role in the diagnostic process by preparing and analysing tissue specimens that support accurate patient diagnoses and treatment decisions. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality in a high-performance laboratory environment.

     Key Responsibilities

    • Receive, process, and prepare tissue specimens for diagnostic analysis.

    • Perform specialised histology procedures following standard operating protocols.

    • Maintain accuracy and quality in all laboratory testing to support timely and reliable results.

    • Uphold a clean, safe, and well-functioning laboratory environment.

    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clinicians, and clients.

    • Contribute to team development and continuous improvement in laboratory processes.

     Minimum Requirements

    • National Diploma in Medical Technology (Histology).

    • HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist in Histology.

    • 1–3 years’ experience in a pathology laboratory or related setting.

    • Proficiency in English and/or Afrikaans.

    • Basic numerical and digital literacy skills.

     Skills & Competencies

    • Strong attention to detail and precision.

    • Ability to follow strict laboratory protocols and standards.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Adaptability and willingness to learn new laboratory techniques.

    • Team player with a focus on collaborative problem-solving.

     Work Conditions

    • 40 hours per week, 5-day work week.

    • Located in Bloemfontein, Free State.
