Job Overview
Absolute Pets is seeking a passionate, driven, and experienced Retail Team Leader to oversee store operations and lead a high-performing team in Bloemfontein.
This role is ideal for someone with strong retail leadership skills who can drive sales performance, manage stock efficiently, deliver world-class customer service, and inspire staff to uphold the company’s culture and values.
The Team Leader will be responsible for achieving store targets, maintaining operational excellence, and acting as a proud brand ambassador.
Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Sales & Performance Management
Achieve store sales and gross profit (GP) targets.
Drive revenue growth through effective leadership and sales strategies.
Oversee and manage visual merchandising to maintain brand standards.
Monitor daily sales performance and implement improvement actions where necessary.
Customer Service Excellence
Demonstrate what World-Class Service looks like.
Coach and guide staff to consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Ensure customer satisfaction and handle escalations professionally.
Stock & Administration Management
Ensure the store is fully stocked and orders are placed timeously.
Minimize stock loss and shrinkage to below target levels.
Oversee all administrative functions and ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Maintain accurate stock control and reporting.
Staff Leadership & Development
Manage and supervise all store staff to ensure performance standards are met.
Lead by example as a proud brand ambassador.
Maintain expert knowledge of all products and train staff accordingly.
Develop self and team through Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
Promote and uphold the Absolute Pets culture and values.
Key Requirements (Typical for Role)
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
Previous retail experience (leadership/supervisory experience preferred).
Strong sales and target-driven mindset.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to manage stock and administrative processes.
Ability to work flexible retail hours.
Passion for retail and love for animals.
