Job Purpose
To install, maintain, test, commission, and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment and systems within the plant, ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimal downtime, and safe operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
-
Install, maintain, repair, test, and commission plant equipment and systems
-
Work on electrical transmission, distribution, and reticulation equipment
-
Perform mechanical fabrication, fitting, and repair of machine components
-
Conduct fault finding on electrical and mechanical equipment
-
Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns
-
Ensure maximum plant equipment availability and reliability
-
Work independently and collaboratively to meet operational deadlines
Minimum Requirements
-
Qualified Millwright (NQF Level 4) with a valid trade test certificate
-
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
-
Full N3 Certificate (Mathematics & Engineering Science passed)
-
Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams
-
Experience in:
-
Pneumatics and hydraulics
-
Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and Soft Starters (WEG preferred)
-
Instrumentation field devices (proximity switches, sensors, level indicators, control valves)
-

Valid driver’s licence
-
Willingness to work overtime, standby, and relocate to Villiers
Skills & Competencies
-
Medium Voltage Systems experience (switching and phasing)
-
Stick and gas welding skills
-
Computer literacy
-
Wireman’s Licence (advantageous)

Strong problem-solving ability
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Team player with the ability to work independently
