Job Overview
Forvis Mazars is offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accountant in Bloemfontein. This role is ideal for candidates who want to grow their accounting careers within a reputable international firm.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full accounting function up to trial balance level, preparing annual financial statements, and conducting independent reviews for a variety of client portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Gathering and organising client information
Preparing annual working paper files, including tax computations
Drafting Annual Financial Statements (AFS) using Caseware
Processing and reconciling monthly or bi-monthly client transactions
Producing management accounts when required
Submitting VAT returns and resolving SARS queries
Conducting budget vs actual analysis and explaining variances
Performing independent review engagements according to ISRE2400 standards
Resolving review queries from managers and partners
Managing productivity and completing timesheets
Providing support to clients using Sage, Caseware, and Xero
Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external clients
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should have:
A recognised 3-year accounting degree aligned with SAIPA or SAICA requirements
4 years’ experience in an accounting or auditing environment
Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles (preferred)
Professional membership (preferred)
Strong computer skills
Software Skills
Experience with the following systems is essential:
MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Xero / Pastel / Sage
Caseware and Caseview
