Job Description:
Value Logistics is seeking a skilled Fleet Controller to manage and maintain its fleet operations in Bloemfontein. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that all company vehicles are roadworthy, well-maintained, and available for operational use in compliance with internal policies and road traffic legislation.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a dynamic fleet while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management:

Maintain electronic databases of vehicle kilometers, registrations, daily inspections, and maintenance.

Schedule and book servicing and maintenance with workshops.

Forecast vehicle availability to meet operational demands.

Monitor fleet to ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Acts and regulations.

Oversee both routine and ad hoc maintenance; renew vehicle documentation as needed.

Ensure timely vehicle dispatch and return inspections.

Maintain and manage vehicle key and inspection registers.
Driver & Fuel Management:

Monitor driver behavior and implement corrective actions for poor driving habits.

Conduct accident review meetings (ACC) with drivers.

Manage and reconcile fuel card expenses for all vehicles and drivers.

Update and report on driver performance, licensing, PDP, and training status.
Compliance & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records and submit regular reports on:

Weekly kilometers and fuel consumption

Fleet availability and utilization
-
Vehicle inspections and maintenance
-
Driver scorecards and assessments
-
COF, licensing, and vehicle asset registers

Maintenance costs and job card management

Requirements:

Proven experience in fleet control or a similar logistics/transport role

Strong administrative and organizational skills

Knowledge of Road Traffic legislation and vehicle maintenance schedules

Experience managing maintenance, fuel tracking, and driver behavior
-
Good communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
