Hi-Tech Recruitment’s engineering division is recruiting an Automation Technician/Programmer for a leading company specialising in home and commercial automation solutions. The role is targeted at candidates with strong expertise in Control4 and Savant systems, with responsibilities focused on installation, programming, troubleshooting, and delivering high-quality automation solutions for clients. This is a permanent, full-time position based in South Africa.

 Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, programming, and maintaining home and commercial automation systems. You will act as a technical expert on Control4 and Savant platforms, ensuring seamless system performance and excellent customer experiences. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, hands-on installation experience, and an ability to manage tasks independently while providing professional service to clients.

 Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and programme home and commercial automation systems.

• Work specifically with Control4 and Savant automation platforms.

• Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

• Ensure high-quality installations and customer satisfaction.

• Provide technical support during and after installation.

• Travel to client sites as required (valid driver’s licence necessary).

 Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in home and commercial automation.

• Proven proficiency in Control4 and Savant systems (essential).

• Hands-on experience with system installation and programming.

• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.

• Valid driver’s licence.

 Remuneration

R240,000 – R396,000 per year, plus benefits.
